I'm planning to get this but the only thing that's stopping me from purchasing one is that the sound quality might not be as great as a cowon player. It's got android support which is a huge plus. I'll be using it mostly as a music player and a gps. I just dont wanna buy another dap when there's a product out there thats got everything i need. I have a flac music collection and sound quality is pretty much on top of my list when it comes to media players.

Any input would be awesome!

You can expect great codec support, but Archos bothers me with the G9s because this generation was promised to be running at 1.5Ghz and they are VERY slow getting any out running at that speed.

I was thinking of getting the 250 GB hard drive model when they come out... but previous experience with Archos has shown that will they have some pretty damn good media support, everything else is pretty lack-luster. Internet, file management, etc. But reviews for the G9 tablets are looking more positive than negative, so maybe this time it will be different? I'd like to see the overall speed and battery differences between the 1 GHz and 1.5 GHz models at some point.

High quality music and gps. That's all I need, everything else is pretty much non existent to me. I just looking for another solution instead of buying a dap and a gps separately, if it's on one device, why not consider it right?

Because it's Archos. They have a reputation for terrible terrible customer support and iffy products. I hear they've gotten better with their products, but it's still hard to believe it after all these years.
