Purchasing a new battery for my gigabeat s60

Hello all!
I'm looking for a replacement battery for my Toshiba gigabeat s60 and im in need of tips and pointers as how to go about purchasing a new one.

Any help as to where i should/could buy a new battery or what to take in consideration would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, just happen to see your post and I literally just replaced my battery yesterday. I actually got it from this site:

Came out to be less than $14 shipped. Act fast because there is a 5% discount code that's good until end of month. I was going to buy from one of those ebay sites but i noticed the shipping to be well over a month and thought there had to be a better alternative. This store is in California so at least it was domestic. Shipping took a week.

I'm not sure if, like you said, the company keeps these batteries until they are sold but after installing into my s30, I did a full charge and then ran the player overnight. It played for over 12 hours non-stop whereas my old battery only lasted 30 minutes...haha. That's quite an improvement. Also, a bit of warning. This battery is just a bit thicker than the old one. Even though it still fits into the player, it is a bit snug. But I think all 1000mAh batteries that you find are the same size anyway. Okay, hope this was helpful.

Very old bump, but for the people who still use their S60's, this link was great. I replaced the battery and now it's working perfectly again.

I just bought mine off ebay a month ago. Took a couple of weeks shipping to Sydney from HK, so you have to be patient. Fitted in fine and works great. The old battery was down to 30min life - new one lasts for many hours.

I've put a new hdd on my xmas wish list, so it's just a matter of research now.

A fantastic mp3 player, and I'm glad it's got a new lease of life.
