Very nice review dfkt. I agree, Soundmagic provides very good value for the money with their products. My PL-30's are my beater-phones but a lot of the characteristics you have mentioned are valid for them as well (e.g. the better-than-average stereo imaging).

Might grab a pair of them at some point, buying new IEM's is always a worthwhile undertaking.

Yes, but in this one (march 2009), the Panas were above the UE11, FX700 etc...

More items are reviewed and dfkt ranks them in according to his preference. If you notice there are quite a few more on the spreadsheet now. That doesn't mean the quality of a set changes, it means how dfkt ranks them changes.

I *think* all of the newer ones have been reviewed here. There's a good chance if you check the spreadsheet thread you can find links to the reviews fairly easily. That should give you a good idea why something is ranked where it is.

They are still great sounding phones - I just don't use them that often anymore, personally. I still have no idea if they're in production or discontinued, since they still pop up from time to time in some stores, but Panasonic acts as if they never existed.

Anyways, I thought this thread was about the E10.

That would be great--thanks. A comparison to other phones (such as the Panas.) would be helpful--if these are so nice, why spend considerably more?

dfkt, could you be so kind to compare the size with Hippo VB? (or photo comparison if you would like)

I'm considering buying them at the moment, but the size could be the drawback for me. Comparing the size with Hippo VB since I tried them before would help me a lot.

P.S. Anyone know for good store in US that is selling them? I live in Croatia, shipping here would put extra cost, and I got a friend who is comming back from US soon. I found them only on this store so far.

I can heartily recommend the micca store. I ordered my E10's from them and it only took a couple of days to get them. Granted, I live in the US, but my experience with this company has been nothing but positive.
