Default Help with purchasing earphones

I am looking to buy a new pair of earphones, i really want to get the etymotic hf5. majority of the music i listen to is rap and hip-hop and from the reviews i've read it would seem like they are not that good for that music genre due to the low bass levels. is there anyone that has some experience with the hf5 and also listens to hip-hop or bass heavy music that can shed some light on this and let me know. and also what other earphones would you guys recommend within the price range of the hf5's

Hippo VB and the Fischer Audio Eterna are very popular recommendations. I have had both and enjoyed them. I recently picked up a pair of Xears N3i and would recommend them as well. All of these have strong bass performance without stomping all over the rest of the sound.

The HF5's go for roughly a hundred bucks on the interwebz, for anyone interested...

I second IDvsEGO's recommendations. If you can magically find them for your price range, the Panasonic RP-HJE900 are great sounding, too.
