Aus: IEM Recommendations? $80-$200

• Price Range: AUD$80-200
• Type/Design: IEMs
• Primary location of use: On the go, while walking, taking the tram, occasional home use.
• Preferable SQ or Sound Signature: Balanced, though with my music tastes, strong bass can do.
• Media: Very eclectic. From rock to house to drum and bass to prog metal to 80's power ballads. Mainly rock though.
• Source: Clip+

My last pair of IEMs, V-Moda Vibes, are starting to break. The rubber sleeve around the wires has broken at the joint to the earpieces, exposing the copper. So I'm looking for a replacement for outdoor use.

The reason why my budget range is so large is because trying to find specific IEMs in Oz from reputable sellers can sometimes be difficult and I may have to factor in exchange rates and shipping costs if I'm buying from overseas.

That, and I want to finally go above the $80 mark for earphones.

Also, I don't have a credit card so recommendations for online stores with Paypal would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC when you were looking for a DAP one of the roadblocks was not many know what's available in Australia. There were also some fair differences in pricing from other parts of the world. Do you have any links to likely online places or local brick and mortar stores?

Jaben (International)

There's always, of course, ebay.

As for physical stores, the main ones I can think of are:
JB HiFi
Dick Smith Electronics
Harvey Norman

Those are retailers though, as I haven't a clue where specialty stores are in my city.

Minor update: Well, I bit the bullet, got a pre-paid credit card and bought a pair of HJE900s off Amazon UK for £103 including postage and handling. They just came in today and I'm very happy with purchase. Build quality feels so much better and it sounds more... fuller than my Vibes. That and no more cold metal earphones in my ear.
