I think since the day i purchased my walkman im wondering if i have a faulty unit or something.
I know in order to get 28~ hours of batt backup ill need to turn off everything and also keep key activity to minimum. I never actually get a backup of anything above 14 hours since the day i got it. Maybe im just changing tracks all the times and that causes that hit on batt timings. Since the battery drain is linear and so does the battery indication on walkman screen. __________________________________________________ ___________ Can anyone tell me how long does it take to drain 2 notches of batt. indication at these settings: Eq = On (clear bass +3 , 1,1,0,-1,+2) dsee = off , vpt = off , normalization = off , clear stereo = off Brightness = 3 , Screen on time = 15 seconds NC = off Playback mode = Shuffle and repeat I kinda press next key for a few times 4-5 for skipping tracks i dnt wana listen. Then i do nothing for almost all duration of song. __________________________________________________ ___ How long should those 2 notches last if this is the setup ?? What are your brightness and display time set at? The screen is probably the biggest battery draw.

The brightness will eat up battery power. I set mine to 1 and it's fine for most light conditions.
I get about 22 hours, depending upon if I have any other features on.] But yeah, they should have slapped the battery from the S-series in there. Up to 64 GB of space and 50 hours of music? That would have been worth it. |

Probably about two to three hours, if you mean the brightness level. If you're constantly using the buttons, which activates the backlight, it will add up in the end.

The battery life mentioned look normal to me. My A847 does not last more than 10 hours with brightness on 3 and Screen On Time at 15 seconds (the rest is similar to OP).
The screen, not being AMOLED, seems to consume a lot of power. As it was mentioned, Sony should have used a better battery, even at the expense of a few millimeters of thickness.
