I have been in the market for a new mp3 player and spotted the Samsung yp-r1. I just had a few basic questions concerning it. First of all is the touch screen capacitive or resistive? Does the r1 brick frequently?
Also is this player better than the Creative Zen X-fi 2? Much obliged for your help -dswizzle9

I've had one for a while now. It occasionally switches off randomly and has done one recovering firmware reboot, but other than that it has been very reliable.
The good It's very small and the screen is lovely It will play a number of video formats without having to convert Battery life is pretty good You don't have to use horrible creative software or drivers (I am scarred from previous creative players) The sound is really good from this player The bad The only button on the whole device locks the player rather than playing and pausing and cannot be configured, so you need to activate the screen by pressing the button and then trying to press the pause button on screen (which is massively annoying if you need to pause quickly) Horrible widgets as standard (although these can be removed, bye bye gingerbread man) No protective case included in price. Aftermarket cases are quite expensive |

So far mine is excellent but would like a bit more on it.
The last item I had was a Creative Zen X-Fi 1 but that broke after a year. I'd just charged it and it simply would not turn on. |
