Need a new MP3 player. Help me out friends

My Samsung P2's Jack Socket is broken (well on its way there, the jack socket is loose, so sound is going, that's the only problem). I need a good MP3 Player that's in the same price range as the P2, but can match or outdo its sound quality (DNSe)

EDIT: It doing more than an MP3 Player is supposed wouldn't go unwelcomed
EDIT: Needs to be at least 4GB
EDIT: Budget £50 - £70 (preferably closer to £50)
EDIT: Needs a good screen, but I'm willing to negotiate with this one, as well as good video support (creative zen video format support levels)
EDIT: Expandable memory welcome, but not necessary
EDIT: Sorry, I know I keep adding stuff, but playlist support like the Creative Zen is welcome. Being able to rate your songs welcome, but not necessary

How much is your budget?

Yeah, knowing how much you can spend it going to really alter the recommendations we can give you. If it's $50, you're limited to a Clip+ with any microSD cards you have laying around. If it's $500, you can get just about anything from anywhere with any features.

Cowon J3 is the best un-android step up. Otherwise the Samsung Galaxy Player 4 or 5 might be a consideration. Plus there's the upcoming Sony A & S Series that's slated to hit in the next few months,...worth the wait IMO (I'm going 64gb Sony - WOOHOO!!!).

If you can find a Samsung P3 you'll be most familiar with and happy with the features/quality. Samsung has a M1 if you can find one that is even better, and still with DNSe.

BTW, currently a 4GB P2 is around 80 USD, as that's what he was saying his price range is.

That said, I think a P3 would be a logical upgrade. Big upside, very similar to your P2, but they made great strides in build quality.

Look for either a Samsung Q2 or Q3, as they both have the same sq as the P3. Just be forewarned - the funky touchpad isn't for everyone - that's why I sold mine. The Q2 does sound excellent tho.

Also, consider a Sony mp3 player - excellent sq & wayyyyyy easier to navigate the music library.

I looked into those, they're very hard to come by now, only reputable place I found was play.com. Also, the P2's Jack Socket and the fact I heard the P3 installs Malware doesn't fill me with good faith

If the Q2 had better controls, I would have kept it, even though mine was only 8GB....it really sounded nice, as I'm sure you remember.
