I bought my original D2 in early 2008. Recently I picked up a plug-into-US-house-current MP3 power supply which has a fold-in/out US-type house current plug and a USB port that would run the cable to my D2. This item is small, about 1.5" by 2.5". On the little label on it, I see "Input: AC 110-220V 50/60 Hz; Output: DC 5.5V 200-300 mA".
Is that output the correct and safe one for my D2? Thanks |

My D2 AC adapter (the official one) says 5V, 2A (2000mA) so I wouldn't suggest that one you have. The different voltage number could be very bad.

USB specification says that USB port should provide 5Vą5%, so no more than 5.25V. 5.5V shouldn't be a problem (it most probably go much lower when connected), but the player can be warmer during charging. Amperage (200-300mA) is very low - about half of that what standard PC USB port can provide - prepare for a long charging.
