Agreed. I have tried my M50s with several different players from Cowon, Sansa, Apple and others and they work perfectly well with all of them without an amp.

I recently auditioned the Sennheiser 558 and 598 at a B&M and I can say with full conviction that they very much sound like Sennheisers, with the trademark veil and mid-bass hump intact. They are rather nice phones if you like this sound, though. Just thought it should be mentioned that they are very much normal Sennheisers.
