Headphone opinions please!

I really really want a set of phonaks based ont he many glowing reviews I have read. They will be my next IEM pruchase. as a matter of fact, I tried trading my VBs or Klipsch s4 for a set but couldn't get any takers. I have 3 bass oriented IEMs and want to get a more detailed set like the phonaks. Paired with the J3 you should be happy with the perfect bass. the 2 models are the same, just one has more filters and accessories.

IDvsEGO, thanks so much for your input. Actually thanks to everyone! I think I'm gonna go for the Phonak Perfect Bass, and I'll add their filters for better bass and treble so I can customize them myself.

My J3 will be very happy haha

Just got the Phonaks today!!

First impressions:
Beautiful design, although the cable could be abit thicker.
Noticeable Bass yet not thumping
I put in the Black Audio Filters and got more clarity on my trebles
Overall much smoother than all my other headphones
Warm tones
Perfect isolation

I wonder where this more clarity with treble from black filters come from.

My ears hear completely the opposite.

Well you got to know ive only had "hard" sets before, very booming and not very balanced.

These ones imo have a nice balance b/w Treble Mid and Bass. Ofcourse give me some time to use them more.

And the black filters didnt change the bass but made the trebles abit clearer.

Also you must know i have Custom EQ on my J3, made for my liking.

The black filters actually reduce the treble response for an enhanced bass response. Unfortunately, they do this by muffling things a little bit. I recommend using the grey filters as they seem to be the most neutral and using the EQ to get the sound you desire.

If you want your bass to be more thumping (PFE's aren't really the best bass-head IEM's), I would seriously suggest getting the Digizoid ZO. Holy crap, that thing will take the PFE's and jack the bass up all the way to 11.

The Digizoid amp should be getting an upgrade soon or so it said in the article here I would wait and see . Have anyone had any success with the Hippo amp?

For now I think I can live with the bass I have now, and my EQ. The J3 is amazing for customization.

Ill play arround with the filters and see whats better for my ears I guess.

And as for an AMP I don't like the bulk factor. I'm either using theses at work or on my commute to school and want them to be light and "invisible" so, we'll see. I've heard great things about the ZO though.
