opinions on the brainwavz m1?

i am about to drop the ball and just buy these bad boys but does anybody here have some impressions about them? im mainly concerned about the sound quality, and how powerful/puchy the bass is.

MEElectronics CX21 and CW31 and Maximo iM-590. All are very close in sound quality, just slightly different in sound signature. The CW31 is the warmest of the bunch followed by the M1. The CX21 is the most neutral and the iM-590 the brightest. For what it is worth, Meritline has the CW31P (mic'd model) for $30 ($55 regularly).

In general, the Brainwavz don't have the bass punch you are looking for. Their bass is soft, smooth, has 'quality' but....won't have the punch and the impact you normally associate with good bass quantity. M1 has a bit more sparkle than the rest (ProAlpha, M2 and M3), lesser bass quantity, is harder to drive (need to up the volume a bit more), has recessed mids, not so great sound stage and imaging.

MEE M6 is a good choice, especially considering the current low prices they go at.

If you need plenty of bass quantity, I'd suggest you look at MEE M31, especially when MEE has one of those sales. I personally don't like it too much because they are far off my tastes, but they are very decent for casual listening once EQ-ed.

Then, there is Eterna V1, which while not great technically, somehow has a 'charm' with the overall signature and presentation. That's something to consider as well.

i think that i might just go with the imetal im-590, because of the similar sound, now lowered price, and stellar accessory pack.

but what a bout the bass? is it like the m1, or more powerful?
