Hi, guys, I'm from ukraine, and I found a solution.I found phone repairman that replaced old battery with new one - it cheap (it some standart phone baterry - about 10$ with costs of work) and made in china, perhaps, and it 750 mAh instead 970, but it works perfectly! I use player for 4 days now, and it still has charge! So, I looked inside and I found that he stripped new battery from its wrappage (to fit it in), brazed old wires to connect it to chip and it works! Tomorrow i will see him and find out what battery (from what telephone) that is and post it there, but I think it isn't difficult to achieve wherever you are, cause that guy did it for the first time and I know that he isn't skillfull in telephones, he can only do the usuall stuff. So try to do that way in your city.
I'll post battery properties later, but this is my email if I forgot or you will need some other help: coolcathard2get on Gmail.
This is how it looks now:
This is a great player, I use it for 4 years now, it never failed me (apart from battery life) and it worth effort. Good luck!

Hi guys,
after two years it seems our prayers have been listened to.
Part number: PPSB0510A
And a store that sells it:
OF COURSE there is something not perfect: now the dimensions are 50X30X6... but 1mm in height should not be the problem (lenght and width are OK).
And OF COURSE I didn't buy it yet (and don't know if I will), but I hope this can help someone in the meanwhile

Good find but it's only 900mAh vs 970mAh for the original one.

I don't know.... I guess sooner or later I'll just make a big order on or It's more expensive but then I'm sure to get original and working parts.
I have so many players, I could buy batteries and other spare parts for other Samsung players at the same time

Old thread but I have just replaced the battery on my YH-J70 and it is as good as new.

Quite straightforward to do as long as you take your time.
1. Remove rubber bungs on back of case and then remove two screws below
2. Remove rear case it is a click fit
3. Lift out hard drive - be careful not to damage wafer connector - I left it attached to board
4. Remove black tape holding battery in place
5. Remove 4 screws that go through board to hold on front cover
6. Turn machine over and carefully remove front cover
7. Lift out battery and disconnect from board
8. Carefully connect new battery - hardest bit
9. Push battery into place
10. Replace front cover
11. Turn case over and put new tape onto battery / board
14. Put 4 screws back
15. Put HD back carefully
16. Replace cover

I bought my new battery for only 7.21 from ebay in the UK

It may be only 900mah but lasts for days unlike my old one that in the end lasted a couple of hours.

Good news! Always glad to hear some people are still using their YH-J70!

Unfortunately mine is gathering dust with my numerous other players and I never replaced the original battery. I should do it before none is produced anymore for this device.
