write protect, can't transfer any music to J3

Had my J3 for about 2 years, never had any problems transferring music files to and from pc to the player.Now for some reason nothing will transfer, either by drag and drop, or through media monkey etc.

I get a error message "cannot create or replace <file name> the parameter is incorrect" Every time i right click properties on folders to remove read only setting it resets as soon as i click ok.I have googled the read only problem but nothing i read cured the problem.. (using win xp sp3..im an administrator ).any help would be most appreciated

Are you writing to a microSD card in the J3? If so, there is a little slide lock on the card that allows it to be write protected. Pull it out and unlock it. Reinsert the card.

Thanks, yes I'm putting it straight on the J3, no cards in the device

If you go into "My Computer", right-click on whatever drive number the J3 shows up as and choose Properties, is the drive marked as locked or read-only in there?

Thanks, I can't find a read only /unlock option when I click on the J3 drive. It seems to be a more windows problem where all folders stay read only no matter what I do. The read only tick can't be removed on the music folder on the J3, so I can't remove/delete anything on the player
