Default RE0>Panasonic RP-HJE900 >>?? (Hifiman RE262)

I own RE0 ,but after 14 months the cable is broken
2 weeks ago I bought Panasonic RP HJE 900 to replace them , but sadly I dont like them as much as my RE0 , mostly due to recessed and somehow boring mids and oversensitivity for highs. Now i am thinking of RE 262. Does Anyone here have experience with these to tell me how they are when compared to RE0 ? I like ballance and clean precise mids+ highs of RE0 and their analythic yet live-like feel. If I will go for RE262 what can I expect?
P.S. I had my RE0 moded ( basically removed foam)

Might I just ask what's steering you away from another pair of RE0?

Sorry, I don't have a whole lot of experience in the headphone field...

Not many here have heard the re262. By all accounts, the re262 is said to have more forward and warmer/liquid mids relative to the re0, as well as softer highs. Not less extended, just less emphasis. Head-direct bills it as an upgrade to the re0/re-zero, and it probably is. Just make sure it's the sort of sound signature you're looking for before committing.

If you want analytical like the re0 and don't want to something different, yet want better build quality, consider the phonak audeo pfe. dfkt has a review of it on ABI. It'll still be different, but the sound signature should be closer to the re0 - assuming again that's what you want.

RE0 and RE-262 are poles apart. I had RE262 on loan and own RE0.

RE-262 has the most bass of all Hifimans, but it is still rolled off, soft and does not carry punch and impact. Unlike the mids of RE0, RE-262's mids are forward, smooth, non-fatiguing and will sound thicker than that of RE0. The treble will be the decider. If you like the treble of RE0, stay away from RE262. It's treble is recessed and has the least treble focus of all hifimans (barring the severely rolled off RE1 and to an extent RE2). Unless you want to choose a midrange focused IEM, I don't see the point in moving from RE0 to RE262.

RE262 is an 'upgrade' because I thought if the tuning was different, it would have been a good upgrade to RE0 and RE252. Perhaps RE272 would be that upgrade.

RE252 is more like RE0. But it has terrible fit issues due to it's odd gummy housing.

thanks you guys.
About phonaks , I know about them , I am just not comfortable to wear them over ear. But i guess i should give them a gogo after all.. maybe once 212 is out , i will get discounted 112. alternatively RE0 is always to go for for me...

P.S. I just sticked a foam in my panasonic's nozzles. Sound is radically improved. Took a bit of time adjusting amount of foam to get it sound the best possible , but deffinitely worth it. Now it sounds more towards RE0 if i add some EQ tweaking ( -6 dB 80 Hz ; +6 dB highs ) on my S9 cowon
