I think the point of the files may not have been "This is what I normally listen to" so much as "I can't put a CD in my MP3 player, and the original firmware doesn't support FLAC so my test files are very high quality MP3s. Since few people are likely to ABX files at this quality, they should be adequate for comparing qualities of firmwares if they can be."

Yes, I was using the MP3's for comparison's purposes.

But also, I actually do tend to rip my original CD's using MP3 for the following reasons:
* Lossless files simply take up too much space for your average MP3 Player (like the Sansa E200 series)
* My car has a Sony CD player which plays audio CD's, WMA and MP3 but no other audio file type. It also does not have an AUX input so even if I did have FLAC encoded files on my Sansa I still wouldn't be able to play it through my Car CD Player which is the second most likely place i'll listen to music after my MP3 Player.

Once capacities increase and I upgrade my Car system I will probably go FLAC... I see that in 1 year or so.

Everyone will say to enable Crossfeed.

I also have Dithering on, and Stereo Width at 110%

What I'm currently playing around with still is the Bass and Treble Boost. Right now, I have Bass boost at 5db and Treble Boost at 7db
I've tried this and others, like the EQ.

IMHO the original FW sounds better, for my taste. I feel a less gloomy sound.

I'm using the v-moda bass freq

BTW I'm still using RB fot the battery longevity
