Smile Which of these closed portables?

Hey everyone,

I asked this over at Head-Fi but didn't get much help.

My brother and I are looking to buy a new pair of portables to go with our soon to own sansa clips. We both own Koss PortaPro's so we would like something closed and bit heavier in bass. The PortaPro's leak to much sound.

I've limited the selection to these so far:

-AKG K450
-AKG K518
-Pioneer SE MJ51 or the MJ71 but can't seem to find a place that sells them.
-Panasonic RP-HC101E-K

We both listen to dubstep, drum & bass, trance, downtempo and sometimes classical music.

Which of the above would you recommend?

We are willing to spend up to 70/$115 so please if you think their is something better in this price range please let me know

The K518 are very good phones for the price, the K450 are rather bad. Never heard the other two.

TBH I'm not very keen on the looks of the K518 but quality>beauty.

I got recommended the Sennheiser PX200 but from what I hear they lack in bass.

Are there any others in my price range I might have missed?

Not too sure if you are open to IEMs but the Hippo VB probably has the most kick-ass bass out there.

I don't find IEM's all that comfortable. Thank you for the recommendation though

K518 gets my thumbs up. I got to hear them recently, a well used pair with easily over 1000 hours on them so there's no burn in debates, they sound great. The bass is goes deep enough for me and doesn't get distorted and cause any muddyness, the mids seemed to bleed slightly with the bass, but the highs were really clear and bright.
