I'm really desperate here, so I'm just going to state the problem.
- Unpacked the J3, plugged it into computer. - Charged to full battery. - Transferred a few songs on, still working beautifully. - Put on new UCI's, still fine. - Downloaded the firmware 2.24 upgrade, and copied the files onto my device. - Unplugged the device, and turned it on. - Firmware upgrade started, then error was given (something with "file" in it) - Firmware update completed, J3 turned off, and now won't turn on. - Reset button, power, I've tried everything, nothing works. - PC won't register it AT ALL, Windows makes a sound, but nothing comes up. - TCCTool won't work either, it just says there is no device connected. PLEASE HELP!! NOTE: I was using Ubuntu Linux up until the thing bricked itself. |

I hate to be blunt on this, but I feel the best advice I can give is to bring it back for a new one.

I agree, return it for an exchange. And next time upgrade the FW, then load all your music & stuff on afterwards.

It sounds like the firmware file was corrupt. It happens when the J3 is unplugged before the file is completely copied, or you could have simply gotten a bad download.
If your PC no longer sees it there won't be much you can do, but perhaps a reset while it is plugged in may reboot it enough to show up on the PC, after which you could copy a new download of the firmware to it. Good luck. |

Thanks for the answers guys (and possibly girls) but i fixed it via some hacking with TCCTool, and a few other USB tricks. If anybody stumbles across this thread who has the same problem, just PM me and I will try to help, cause I thought mine was toast, but it works great now.
