Default Need New Headphones

Hello guys,

So I left my headphones in the cab on my way back and so I need new headphones.

The last ones I had were Sennheiser 50. Some 50 model. I don't know which one. Bought like 2-3 years ago. They were really comfortable and were good quality.

The market has changed and time has progressed. I'm looking to spend around $50-60 max. I'm looking for in-ear headphones. Not the large bulky ones.
Which ones do you guys recommend?

Price Range: $50-$60.
Type/Design: In-Ear headphones. J shaped or straight down.
Open Style: I don't really care if others can listen but it should be so loud.
Closed Style: Don't care
Circumaural: Don't cae but would prefer in-ear.
Supra-aural: Nope.
Primary location of use: At home, while jogging, outside, long periods at a stretch.
Preferable SQ or Sound Signature: Don't care.
Media: Rock, Jazz, Movies, TV Shows
Source: What will be driving your headphones? Portable Player and laptop.

Thanks
Crazysah

There's not enough info for anyone to provide you with a meaningful answer. Look here.

Adding your location to your user profile or your post may help also. No need in someone suggesting an item that's local to them you can't get.

Hmm... Is the Klipsch worth it over something like the Creative? I don't think I like the Sony ones... seems cheap quality.

I've never owned Klipsch myself but I know recommendations here are usually really reliable because people have and use the items, I use the sony when I'm out because they aren't noise isolating, sound nice enough, stay in my ears, and if they have a little accident I can replace them without much fuss. With your budget though you could afford two pairs of the much better sounding Klipsch and have one in use and one as a backup. My advice though is to pay close attention to the level of noise isolation if you're using them in the street, being run over isn't fun

I have both. The Klipsch wins because of SQ, noise isolation, your preference for in-ear, and your use for jogging.

So, the Klipsch S4 is worth the price?

Probably not if you're buying them from ebay. I'm not talking about if they are genuine but as one of the mods Adub found out Klipsch won't back the warranty unless they are purchased from an authorized dealer. And the chance you'll need warranty service is too high. They tend to split at the strain relief and the sound cuts out on one side. Mine did and I'm very careful about how I treat my headphones. Since I had the warranty they were replaced. I would have been out of luck otherwise.

I would take a look at this thread. There was some recommendations and a bit of discussion about under $50 IEMs I found myself agreeing with. I'm not a regular user of IEMs so I don't consider myself an authority on them.

I like my Denon AH-C360 quite a bit. They sound pretty much like the Klipsch S4. There's a bit less bass and the mids are better to me. I wouldn't buy the Klipsch again for the $80 I paid for them but I'd buy the Denon's again for $40.

You can get the Klipsch ProMedia In-Ears from TigerDirect for $40 plus shipping ($2) with coupon code KNJ16585. They use the same drivers as the S4, so the only real difference is they have a mic.

Personally, I would not pay $80 for the S4. But at $40 they are okay depending on whether or you like their sound signature.
