Gigabeat P10 unable 2 connect!

Hey all. My friends MP3 player all of a sudden broke and couldnt b connected 2 the computer. So she gave it 2 me 2 see if i could fix it.

Here's the deal:
The Gigabeat P10 MP3 player when plugged into a computer with WMP 10 just charges but media player wont register it to sync it. It also doesnt register under My Computer as a drive or under Drive Manager!

When plugged into a computer with WMP 11... it just says "found new hardware"... "MTP Device". And continues to say that over and over again.

If i go into Device Manager and go into its properties. It says "This device cannot start (Code 10)".

If plugged into a WMP 10 system it has a driver version 5.2.00.
If plugged into a WMP 11 system it has a driver version 5.2.5326.4762

I have 2 computers 1 with WMP10 and 1 with WMP11 so any ideahs with either i can try.
