retina display has a much larger resolution so things will look better, but the retina display is not better than the OLED on the X, blacks are true blacks on the X, not on the retina display.

I am not sure how much you paid for your X, but you should have not bought it, the product is discontinued and new stuff is coming from sony so it would have been wise to wait. I'd say return it if you still can.
