No, that's not useful at all for that project. It's just a hobbyist toy based on rather outdated hardware. It also only runs from mains, not battery, as far as I can see.

Yeah it wasn't meant to be too serious hence why i didn't put it in the news section. But it's meant more for a Hi-Fi so that you can just insert your SD Card and play music through your home made Hi-fi. I thought it was pretty cool at least.

Sure, I didn't mean to come off condescending. Was just replying to Lestatar that this DIY kit isn't useful for developing a new portable player that might run Rockbox some day.
