I wouldn't recommend the Hd202 for country music. It's heavy, muddy bass would just completely bury the strings, guitars and vocals I enjoy so much in Country. Take a look at the Senn HD428. They're strengths are right where Country has it's sweet spot. They can deliver a goodly amount of bass if called to do it but bassheads wouldn't like them. I think they match up very well with Country.
They build quality is much better han the HD202. Not the worlds cushiest pads but they are comfortable and provide decent isolation. The thin cable had me worried at first but it's had a couple of good, solid yanks and looks like new. I'm not one of those people that believe in burn in but these sounded better to me after about 40 hours or so. I don't know if it took that long for the drivers to loosen up or if it took that long for me to wrap my head around how these sound. I do know they seem to sound better than they did out the box. Just a precaution if you do get them and they sound bass light at first. Once you hear them for a while they sound very good for the price.

Does anybody have any experience with the Sennheiser HD448's? How about the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's?
Thanks! Last edited by Mandalore; 12-26-2010 at 09:05 PM. Reason: Had another question |
