Iaudio s9 vs i9 --- assuming I could purchase either at the same price

I'm looking for a new player and have narrowed it down to the S9 and the I9.
In terms of ease of use, build quality, and 'pocketability' (and the ease with which it could be operated from a pocket), and assuming I can purchase either at the same price, which would be the better choice?

I know the S9 is a better value as it typically costs more, but I don't care about video capability, and really just want the best music player.

I'd get the i9 because the S9 could be 2 years old, just sitting on a shelf for that time.

Both sound the same and have the same sound enhancements jeteffects 3.0. The s9 does have the better screen, there's numerous ui's out (like claw ui) and is better for video. So if they're the same price go s9, but I'd think you'll find the i9 less expensive.
