That sure stinks. I like the looks of both. A little different than the usual phones out there.

I dunno, these could be okay. I kinda like the Majors looks, kinda retro, and I personally like Square ear pads, like the ATH-SQ5. The box is a breath of fresh air too, just cardboard?? In this day and age is pretty bold :P I mean at least they are reasonably priced. I'm more skeptical of high end audio manufacturers making "high end" headphones and IEMs. Especially if they havn't been doing similar equipment in the past.

Anyway, I'd have to try them before buying, or then hearing even okay reviews from people I trust might make me want to try them.

As far as OEM housings go, well- as long as they sound good I wouldn't care, they are earbuds though so their usefulness in this day and age drops pretty dramatically.

I also like how the Majors look. The design makes me think of no-frills utilitarian functionality. I still doubt they'll be able to compete with similarly priced Senn cans tho.

How can you say that without any idea on how they sound?

I'm curious to see how the cans turn out.

edit:

The more i look at the minors the more i think they might actually be good, their cost of $60 is good, it comes with 4 different size silicone things to make for a sure fit. I have a pair of Sony buds i still use every day because of how good they sound and they have a similar seal method.

Hopefully I'll get to try them in some store somewhere.

I'm not saying they're good or not good, but if you read the whole thread it's funny how they deem them bad without ever testing them, typical headfi

Well, FWIW, especially coming from a non-fullsized cans guy like me...

I just demo'd these new Marshalls in an HMV in Hong Kong. They had a kiosk where I could use my own DAP [happened to have my Sony E with me].

I gotta say: I was actually pleasantly surprised.

The look and feel is better than in pictures. They do indeed come in a cardboard brown box but the phones are very matte colored/finished a la those Batman AIAIAIs. They look like they would be pretty durable too. However, do not ask me about actual fit - I sampled them for like 10 mins with the band around the back of my head, not on it. Sorry too vain to muss the hair.

Soundwise? I was pretty impressed actually but my fullsize cans experience is less than worthy so...

Still, they sounded quite full, though I had to turn my Sony E up to 16-17 [the same Sony E never sees more than 10-12 using my Panas and VBs]. Very good bass, not boomy and crappy like the Monster Beat Dr. Dre, but full, deep and quick. I threw some metal, prog, jazz, vocals, trance and pop at them and TBH, they did sound pretty good throughout the spectrum. Rodrigo y Gabriela sounded quite nice and they seemed to do very well with guitar based music [a plus for me obviously].

Selling for around 100USD in HK.

Hoping someone else will sample these to either confirm or deny my admittedly less than experienced impressions

Verdict? Believe it or not, worth investigating to at least hear them. TDS, I think you might actually like these puppies!

Thanks for the infos, my curiosity is peaked though these are under the price range of the next cans i want so I'd pass either way.
