I recently bought a cowon j3, and my skullcandy ear buds broke about a week after i bought it. Could anyone suggest a good pair of ear buds for around $100 or less.
I am currently considering the Sennheiser CX 271 http://www.canadacomputers.com/produ...item_id=031208 Klipsch Image s4 http://www.canadacomputers.com/produ...item_id=031651 |

It is really a matter of personal taste. I bought my Cowon J3 last week. After a lot of googling on many forums, it seemed to me that Pionner and Ultrasone were among the most popular ones.
I bought Pionner HDJ2000 http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-HDJ-20...7914065&sr=8-1 It is expensive but at the same time Cowon J3 is also expensive and I believe buying a cheap headphone for a such a nice device will really deprive you from benefiting the real capacity and quality of the device. Ultrasone is also fantastic but far more expensive! If you really want to buy something <= 100$ then I will go for either Samsung or Creative. Good luck! ![]() Kind Regards, Dariyoosh |

People seem to rave about these Panasonics: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-H.../dp/B002R1MDQY. Though I haven't heard them, I take dfkt's word that these are among the best headphones he has heard, as evidenced by http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56274.

I’m not in the market for new iem’s right now but if I was going to get some, I’d go with the Panasonic RP-HJE900’s, if you want to look at some other options, look here. BTW amazon has them for $80.00 right now, that’s a steal http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-H.../dp/B002R1MDQY

The Etymotic also has a fairly good sound for under $100 and I would definitely recommend these. They were a little flat for me at first but with some good ole breaking in, they sound stellar. A little too bright for me but I know lot's of peeps that love these earphones. Last I checked they were $70.44 on Amazon I must say however that if you're a bass head or close to it the Etymotic may be disappointing unless the trade off of it's good sound works for you. I don't know much about the Panasonic RP-HJE900’s but based on dfkt's review they're next on my list and have detachable cables which is what I love about my UE 5 superFi and Shure SE425-V. Based on his review I actually cannot wait to grab these.

The S4s are my main iems right now and I really enjoy them. They are dark and warm with a punchy, fairly tight bass. However, everyone I've talked to says that the Hippo VBs are basically a better version of the S4s for about the same money. You might want to give the VBs a listen if you can.

Does anyone have any experience with the Monster Lil' Jamz because they're around the same price as the S4's and just wonder how the quality compares?
