Default Incorrect/Missing Artist Info

I don't post here often any more (because the zune normally works so well), however as of 10 mins ago my zune thinks Nine Inch Nails are a band called Sparks.

I have no idea how that has happened. It kept the artist background the same but changed the bio and pictures page.

It has now removed any connection to NIN or Sparks.

I cannot just remove the albums and start again, I have 33 albums on the zune and many more on my pc.

Any program to manually edit/update the background info?

Thanks.

Check all the metadata for the songs to be sure it is correct. Then delete and resync.

What you probably did is disconnected the player while it still said "Sync Complete" which is when it syncs most of the metadata. When you do this, one of two things happens: either the artist has no metadata whatsoever, or (and you got the more frustrating one, in my opinion...) it mixes up the data with a related artist. Unfortunately, the only solution is deleting the entire artist and resyncing, allowing it to go back to saying "Connected" before disconnecting. Sorry, bro, and good luck.

It shouldn't take too long. Just go to the artist and delete, then drag the artist back from your collection to the device.

Yea, my biggest artist (Porcupine Tree with 124 songs at an average of, I would guess, about 8 minutes) took under a minute to delete and about eight to re-sync. Just be sure to let it finish. Wouldn't wanna do it all over again
