Default Which Media Studio Should I Use?

Is there any program that is pretty much exactly what emodio would be if it actually worked. A program that can rip cd's and mp3's and convert videos. I tried to load the newest version of emodio and it won't get my track information. Everything just says track 1, track 2 etc, so then I went back to the first version of emodio and it won't recognize my player (which is in UMS mode by the way). Then I downloaded Samsung Media Studio and that wouldn't recognize my player either. Finally I tried Windows Media Player and it ripped the cd's in alphabetical order instead of numerical order and with bad audio quality (there's a weird scratching sound in the background.) Emodio never worked well, but back when it was paired with gracenote for the album information it was usable now it doesn't even give track names and even if I wanted to put them in manually it doesn't give me that option. If some one could offer me some help I'd really appreciate it. What media studio should I use? Does anything even exist that will meet my needs? Thanks in advance for your help.

I searched the forums a little better and I might be interested in one of them Songbird and MediaMonkey. Which one would you suggest? Thanks.

Mediamonkey is a great program, but it is audio-only......you'd need something else for videos. I don't know anything about Songbird.

Yeah, I just noticed that it doesn't do video. I might be okay with that though. Will either of these work when my P2 is in UMS mode or will I have to go back to MTP? Thanks.

MediaMonkey worked just fine with my old Samsung Q2,and my other players, either in UMS mode or MTP.....so it should be fine.

Okay so I installed Songbird because it supports video, but I'm not sure how to get it to sync with my P2. Does anyone know how to do this. If I can't get it to sync I'll switch to MediaMonkey, but so far it looks pretty good. My P2 is in UMS mode. Thank you.

I figured out how to get Songbird to sync with my device. I had to download the MSC add-on. Which is kind of weird since my player is UMS, but at least it finally works. I like it so far. I tried MediaMonkey, but I just like the platform on Songbird better. It's more user friendly for me. Thanks of the help.

I've never looked at Songbird, but glad it works for you!

Thanks for the help Marvin. I ended up going back to MediaMonkey again because Songbird wouldn't rip my cd's. I guess I'll just have to get used to the way MediaMonkey looks.

There are skins and plug-ins for it to customize it....I haven't ever bothered with much of that stuff, but it's out there.http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/inde...3.0_and_higher

I've been trying to transfer a cd that I ripped to mediamonkey to my P2, but when I transfer it says "Not supported format". What do I need to do to get the cd to play on my P2? Thank you.

What format did you rip it in?

I'm not sure. What format does it automatically rip in? All I've ever used is emodio or wmp so I didn't know that I had to chose a specific format.

That's a good question.....I haven't used it to rip a CD in at least a year....I use a dedicated CD ripper for that.
Maybe this image can help you....the red circle is where you choose the format to rip to.

I don't really buy mp3's pretty much all the music I put on my player is from my CD collection. Would it make more sense for me to just use a CD ripper and forget about any type of Media Studio and if so what CD Ripper would you recommend?
