Progression from Hifiman RE2 to portable (circum-)supraaural?

Hi guys,

I really do enjoy my RE2 on my Sansa Fuze (V2) and still will be for a while, but am already searching for a progression path towards portable supraaural headphones (not sure if circumaural would be that good for outside listening and "jerky" walks - but humor me!).

What would you recommend to try if I would like to retain the clarity and neutrality of RE2 as much as possible - of course giving it a higher standard? I am not seeking any pounding bass reproduction, I do not like it.

For reference I have the older supraaural Philips SBC-3178, which should basically be a re-branded AKG K260 - but these are of course for inside listening and not primarily aimed for outside.
