you mentioned foam, like where can you get that or what do you get?

I tried like ear plug foam last night, did not work that well. Just trying different things for better isolation.

Ok, great to hear. I do want to try stuffing some foam in the tips though. Any recommendations for that? or tips?

I got mine today and I've been listening to them for a couple hours on my EF2A.

I'm not crazy impressed so far, but then again I really need to burn them in I think.

The mids sound kind of veiled/distant to me which I do not like. the cymbals are also loud and messy so far. The bass impact doesn't sound that great, nor does the quality of the bass. Their sound sig is nice tho: not as engaging as my NE-7Ms were, but prettier and more laid back.

Also, while I can get a seal, they don't fit in my ears snugly b/c I cannot push them in deep enough. Any advice for some bigger (longer) tips? Maybe some of them double flange (or whatever they're called) things would work. . .

Do I need to start using FLAC's with these? I mostly listen to progressive rock.

I got mine today, before I ever even listened to them I felt I definitely got my moneys worth. The build quality on these are VERY impressive, I day say I might not be able to break them. But we'll see.

In equipment racks, tracking down sibilance starts with patch cables. Since they have removable cables, I'd love to take a shot at wiring up some examples... cropped litz wires off other destroyed headphones, thin solidcore silver-plated copper, etc. Anyone know what the size nomenclature is for that DC power connector they use so I can order some from an electronics supplier?

I tried the same method but the protectors would fall apart when I cut the hole. How did you do this? Do you remember the brand of the ear protectors?

The Ultimate Ears site shows at least 7 different SuperFi tips, a few MetroFi and TripleFi models, available. Can you advise which tips would fit the HJE900'S?

The ones at Amazon seem to be the "RPHJE900-K" model. Anyone one know the difference?

They are the same model from J&R as J&R are the one's who sell them.

Maybe the K part means the american version with the high grade cord, simpler packaging and 3 pairs of tips.

Actually, I ordered my 1st pair directly from JR last week (without the "-K") and it does have the high-grade cable, a fairly simple package, and 3 pairs of tips.
