Default Possible fix for your dead clip - battery wire broken

My clip wouldn't turn on, but it would come on when connected to PC or charger via USB. Tried all sorts of reset and formatting procedures found on net, nothing worked.

Cracked it open, and found one of the wires connecting the battery to the PCB was broken.

I stripped a bit of the insulation off and soldered it back on.... WORKS AGAIN!!

Hope this helps someone....

I can second this, on my Clip, (haven't been in my clip+ yet to see if it's the same) the wires are do come off the PCB.

Be careful though, it's a crappy PCB. The traces come off easily.
