Hi all,
I noticed last night that the Twitter app would not sign in. I thought it was probably a service-related issue so I ignored it. This morning I again tried to sign in to Twitter with the same result. Type in username/password and get loading animation forever. I then tried a full restore (restart and hold home + media button); still nothing... Anyone else experiencing this? Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Its on twitters side. They shut off "basic auth" yesterday, meaning apps that sign in the regular way (username + password) quit working.

aww piss. i use the twitter app way too much for this crap.

It's microsoft's fault. Twitter has been counting down until the shutdown of "Basic Auth" requests for a while now, this was no surprise to any other major Twitter app developers. Microsoft drops the ball again and we're left with non-functional software, only a symptom of a larger problem.

Yup, you're right. This is a change Twitter made to their API. While I'm not going to comment on what got us to this point, know that we're already testing a fix. We will remedy this ASAP.
