X-fi is dead, screen flashes white when plugged in

I took a long road trip recently and I was using my zen to play music and the battery died. When I got home, i went to plug it in to charge it and I got nothing. I tried a few different cables and that didn't work so I got a paperclip and did a soft reset, and still nothing.

If I plug it into my computer and try to power it on or reset it the screen will often start just flashing white, like the backlight is flickering but nothing else is going on.

I tried a hard reset by holding the play/pause button and holding down the power button but that didn't work either, still just flashing and no power light or computer detection at all.
Wondering if this problem has been encountered and if there's a fix or if my zen is bricked
