I just got my new Clip + and love it. Looking to upgrade the stock buds for something better and want a full size earphone (no cans or buds for me :-0 ). I have settled on Sony MDR v6 based on the reviews.
-Can the clip + drive the V6 without an amp ? -If not which amp is best value ? I am looking to really bring out the performance of the V6 without spending a whole lot. Appreciate any pointers..Thanks! |

Congrats on the Clip+ - don't use full size cans but you may be smart in looking at amps

"Can the clip + drive the V6 without an amp "
Good question. My answer is that it is debatable. The V6 works with the Clip+ and Fuze, but doesn't seem to be at its best when used with them, and often the volume seems to be just about enough when maxed out. The V6 sounds so much better with a higher power source such as a home stereo. i have some old Sony 32 ohm headphones that are larger than the V6, but that the Clip+ and Fuze can play much louder than the V6 and with greater sound quality. Some headphones are much easier to drive with very low power than others. It is best to try a headphone with your player before buying it. Last edited by JK98; 08-29-2010 at 10:35 AM. |
