MicroSD playlist issues

I'm trying to create a playlist or two in MSC mode from a 8GB MicroSD card. The songs play normally in my Clip+, but when I try to put them in a playlist, the playlist keeps coming up as empty. I'm pretty sure I'm putting them in the right place. Am I doing something wrong?

To clarify, how do I create a playlist of songs within a MicroSD card?

I'm going to guess that you saved the playlist to the internal memory. Might have worked if you saved them to the root directory of the card.

EDIT: Here's my method....
1. Must be in msc mode (not mtp or auto-detect)
2. copy songs to microSD card (you've already done this
3. add songs FROM PLAYER to Winamp. arrange as desired.
4. save playlist to root directory of microSD card.

I did those last two steps, but not with Winamp, but some similar program called XMPlay. But the playlists still turn up empty. It's probably a difference in the way the programs write the m3u files. Could the problem be that it's saved to a wholly seperate drive instead of the player's root folder?

Also, would it work with WMP as well?

I know basically nothing about WMP, and plan to keep it that way.

It's not hard (at least in Winamp) to save the playlist to multiple places, perhaps with different names, and then try them out.

Also you could use a text editor to look at the playlists, that might help to understand the problem. If necessry, post a playlist here (as text in the message), and hopefully somebody will understand the problem.
