Default Cowon J3 'Update DB' Settings question
What does the 'UPDATE DB' under the SETTINGS/SYSTEM Menu do on the J3?

I realize that DB probably means DataBase but exactly what is updated if this setting is set to on?

well, it does exactly that.


it scans/searches for new entries or files and for missing/removed files.

it's sometimes necessary after a firmware update.
