Default Looking for a new mp3 player. zen x-fi or x-fi2
New to these forums. Few days at work, I dropped my beloved Creative Zen Vision M player and sadly, it cracked, and broke the bottom screws. Only thing that is holding the player together are the top screws. I have two options. I can always look on eBay for a broken ZVM for a new case and perform surgery. Or just get new player. I'm looking at getting the Zen X-fi or the Zen X-fi2. Which one do you think would be better for the price. I'm leading towards getting the zen x-fi because of the cheaper price and the amount of accessories I can get for it. I'm open for other recommendations besides these two.

You'd be better off doing surgery on your ZVM. The newer Creatives don't measure up to it.

Agreed, as the SQ, stability, & build quality is not like it used to be.

You can perform surgery first, if failed, then get a new one. Zen X-fi and the Zen X-fi2, personally, I would prefer the second one, money and accessories can't be the preferred option for you to choose a good one, while performance should be. anyway, just advice

I'm on a budget because I have pay for my college fees and books. Money is tight. I been looking for a new mp3 player for a while. I have a X-fi sound card in my computer and it sounds great, I'm sure the mp3 player is juts as good. Its either one of two players I listed above, or get a Zune.

Since you are on a budget & it's true nothing beats that ZenVM. It's easy to repair & if all you need are screws I'll send you some.
