Unhappy Is the shuffle really that bad?

So having had my clip for about a couple weeks now, I'm noticing that the shuffle on it is quite brutal. It will often repeat a song either right away or within 4-6 next song advances.

Does anyone else experience this?

And I thought the shuffle feature on the D2 was bad. I wonder why companies cannot just use a shuffle system that loads all the songs in random order and plays them one after the other...OR, marks a song as played and then does not come back to it until all selected songs have been played once.

Frustrating.

Nope, no repeats here. Of course, I do have 3,600 songs on mine, so there may be less chance of a repeat.

I don't know that I've ever had repeats.

IIRC I did get a repeat once but I haven't used the OF in over a year now so I can't comment on it and even though I rarely use shuffle, I've never gotten one with rockbox shuffle.

X-nemesis:

I have a V1 Clip, a V2 Clip, and a Clip+. I have not noticed any problems with the Shuffle order. Admittedly there are only 31 songs on my Clip+ and songs do tend to repeat one or twice over a two hour drive but that's not a shuffle problem. I just listened to the V1 Clip over a 4 hour drive today, and shuffle seemed to work fine.

BTW, if you have multiple copies of a song on the player (I had that recently with two songs), they are treated as different songs and may appear to be repeating in shuffle mode.

My Clip sometimes plays several Songs by one Artist in a row in the shuffle mode. Pretty annoying, but i haven't experienced your Problem yet.
