What do you want in the next gen ZuneHD?

If and when they make a new ZuneHD, whatever it's going to be called, what type of hardware/software changes do you want made?

Here's my list (in no particular order):

Bluetooth streaming audio
802.11n WiFi
Dedicated volume up/down buttons
USB 3.0 connection
Has anyone else noticed that the screws on the back corrode? The first weeks they have a nice shine, but then they get dirty and oxidize quick. Definately something I'd like changed.
Better processor. Yes the NVidia Tegra is great, but there are better, maybe the dual-core snapdragon?
Better screen. The OLED screen is great but it's small. I'm fine with the 16:9 format, but a higher resolution would be appreciated.

S-AMOLED screen with really high res
Support for purchases and downloads from the Windows Phone 7 marketplace
Smaller bezel

Actually, I want it to run a very stripped down version of the WP7 OS, without Office and calendar etc. It could have the same UI as today (more or less), but run on WP7, so we could have all the apps, Xbox Live and the better Internet Explorer offered in WP7.

More than anything, I want it to keep on not being a computer and focus on the content.

-Cheap 64GB (or SD slot)
-Not tethered to Zune software (or add linux support)
-Dedicated Vol, Play/Pause, ffwd rew buttons
-Gapless support (It may already work on the HD but I have a zune 80, gapless mp3's don't work perfectly on some tracks no matter what I do)
-mini HDMI port on device because I enjoy not lugging a dock around to watch stuff on TV

You do know how awesome that media button on the side is? Much better than my Cowon S9's top buttons, which I had to turn off because they changed the volume etc all the freakin time :S

Be realistic. They won't make it drag'n'drop no matter how much anyone wants it. It contradicts the entire concept. And don't you know how much MSFT hates Linux? Because they really, really do. A simplified Mac version is coming up though.

The name of the post is "What do you want in the next gen ZuneHD". Drag and drop is what I want even if it never happens.

Actually now that I think about it what would be as good as drag and drop/linux support would be a slimmed down version of the zune software that has a smaller memory footprint and doesn't have services running continuously in the background.

Auto tagging for videos would be great or even intelligent tagging based on file name and path.

I see your point about it changing volume (in your pocket I assume), so they should have a hold switch if more buttons are added.

another thing:An SDK that no longer requires that hack to utilize all the functions of the HD.

another thing:Continued support for the older zunes (I will use my 80 till it dies and no longer can be repaired)

Yeah, well I want my Zune to tansform into an airplane and fly me to Vegas for the next CES, but it's not gonna happen. Your wish about MS doing stuff like Linux support is just as whacky as my wish And backround services taking up ram? Zune isn't slow on my PC is it slow on yours?

Same build quality (excellent)

Improved game support (allow the
usage & purchase of the WP7
games and apps)

Minimum 40hrs audio/7hrs video
playback time

2 versions: 1 w/wifi, the other w/a
dedicated 3G connection - for constant
connection to the cloud

Continued speedy browser connection,
since I'm quite used to the pretty solid
functionality of my Android browser

Netflix - 'nuff said on this!!!

I'll see if I can think of other things later on, but this will suffice for a "wish list" for now. This does need to be a complete media experience, and these are the things I see as a necessity for a device to become a success nowadays.

Never thought of this....great idea ! Having Netflix myself, I would find this very useful, especially if they added a feature to download your movies/shows to your ZuneHD so you can watch them without an Internet connection. I also agree w/pretty much everything else.
