Fixes:

• Enables reconnection to the Wi-Fi® network when resuming from Suspend mode.
• Ensures that the audio output is not truncated when playing raw PCM files.
• Enables your device to enter Suspend mode when the Bluetooth® feature is on.

Added Features and Enhancements:

• Adds the Notes and Calendar applications.
• Camera
  - Adds support for Geo-tagging.
  To enable Geo-tagging, you must first turn on the GPS in the Settings. Once locked, start the Camera application. A "G" icon next to the battery icon indicates the the GPS is turned on. Tap the Options icon, and scroll down to "GPS Tagging" to turn on/off Geo-tagging.
• Photo
  - When viewing photo details, it displays the GPS coordinates of photos taken with Geo-tagging turned on.
• Music
  - Supports Playlist transfer through Windows® Media Player and Windows Explorer.
  - Supports "Save As Playlist."
  In the "Now Playing" view, tap Settings > Save As Playlist.
• Video
  - For devices without HDMI audio support, the audio will be played through the Zii EGG built-in speaker (or through earphones or external speakers connected to Zii EGG).
  - Adds a video applet that enables you to configure the video app settings through Applications Settings.

When will this thing ever be available to buy? Seems like they've been working forever on it. I have thought about getting the X-Fi2 as an upgrade to my Zen, but am holding out to check out the Zii, whenever it is finished, but who knows when that is going to be??

I guess judging by the other thread in the Zii forum, chances of a consumer version being released are slim to none.

You can buy one buy signing up as a developer. $399 last I checked, but that gets you a 32gb Egg with an SD slot that will hold another 32gb of memory. The Zii Egg has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, G-Sensor, two cameras, and fits in any current iPhone case.

So you can actually buy a fully functioning model by pretending to be a developer? Would you say its a worthy Zune HD competitor?

The Zii is getting fleshed out more and more as time goes buy, although time runs slow at ZiiLabs. Right now the Zii running Plaszma includes

Clock/world clock, with alarm feature.
And a camera app.

It's a bit buggy though, as like was said before, it is a developer's model.

I like the playlist feature. I really missed it jumping from a Zune to the Zii.

So can anybody give a real thumbs up to the currently available Zii as a good music device? Is music playback and audio quality similar to that of the Zen X-Fi2? And how does the web browser compare to the Zune HD?

Can someone please get into contact with me via PM and send me the new firmware? I bought mine off eBay and can't get the new firmware updates? This is a plea pretty much. I really want to test out the new features.
