Exclusive P3 Hidden Video Mode

First of all, thank you very much to our French friend mortpic at gmp3 who found this hidden mode after viewing my video of the P2 hidden mode.

1) settings>system>hold option>all
2) Play any video and pause it
3) Press hold button
4) Press the volumes buttons ("+" and "-") at the same time and then touch the screen



Yes, 8 new features!! "Warning! Develper's menu: system can be damaged"

The features in detail:

-All file list:


All videos display in the same list, even if they are in different folders. You lose the "delete" feature

-System Information

Display video file information at the top of the screen as well as the memory and other figures I don't understand

-Flow Viewer


Add the sub-menu "style" in the "display" menu. Add coverflow features

-Multi Container: Probably to support other video files containers. To be tested

-No spec limit: I don't see difference. Videos that were not supported are still not supported with this feature enabled

-Max speed: I don't see any difference

-Hold Guide: Playback status and information bar always display

-Spiral Volume: Volume touch control as on the P2

I was ablle to open hidden menu only by pressing +- buttons and touch screen at the same time.
As i understand letter "f" in system information shows selected file from overal amount of files.
The max speed changes maximum speed from fast2 to fast5.
On the fw v2.20 there is no warning, which can be seen fron screenshot, but on the 2.22 there is.Im not sure, but ive got a feeling that on fw 2.22 style3 and style1 differs a bit from same styles on fw2.20.
Lets hope that one day they will release new firmware with some of features from service menu.

I got it to work once, then I pressed OK by accident and now it won't work anymore! I've tried resetting, changing setting back and forth and everything!

EDIT: Never mind, got it. I really like the Spiral Volume!

EDIT2: Well this isn't good. Using some of the settings on one of my videos has corrupted the video and now there's "snow" lines now and again on the video.

EDIT3: Resetting fixed the problem.

i personally find the spiral volume control useless as you can slide your finger on the sensor bar buy the Samsung logo for touch volume already.

yes, but that only adjusts the volume one step at a time, where as spiral volume control continues to adjust with your finger. besides, the spiral volume control is taken from the P2, which also has a "hidden" menu like this.

I think the find itself is really kewl regardless of how useful or non useful the menu items are.

As long as it isn't problematic, like it was for me. But resetting fixed my problem, at least.

Perhaps there will be another firmware update to finish up these features and release them completely? (not being hidden) It would be awesome if they added spiral volume for the music screen too.

No, it's only a developer mode. The 2.20 should have been the final firmware. Ok they released the 2.22 but no reason to release another firmware.

This hidden mode also exists on the P2 and has never been included in a firmware

aw I hope they at least bring the touch volume control back before they decide that the P3 is settled.

edit: well, at least now I have touch volume control for video (with the trade of "delete" feature, but it's fine).

yeah. i whish they would to. as for the delete feature... i like it, except id like to delete by artist and not have to go in and delete everything else first
