I have a 40GB player. Recently I turned it on and noticed that the battery level was really low so I tunred it off and charged it. I tried to turn the player on but it won't turn on. It keeps saying recharge battery. I tried recharging the batter again and then turning it on while it was recharging. The screen just goes black and then back to the charging screen which is the black screen with a picture of a plug on it. I thought maybe it was the battery that it was completely dead since I've been using this for about 5 1/2 years now. I bought a new battery and tried to fully charge it. I tried to turn the player on and the same thing as before happens. I then thought it might be the hard drive. I tried turning it on with the hdd removed and it still won't turn on.
Anyone know what is causing it to not turn on. Is it the battery, hdd, or something else. I really love this player and would love to get it fixed.
Do you think all the songs and pictures are still on the hdd? I was thinking of just buying a used 40GB player from Amazon and then switching hdd and battery so that I can still have all my songs and pictures. Is this a good idea to do? or Is there a way to fix the player I have now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
