Should I buy an S9 or wait for the mystery J3 to come to the USA

My birthday is coming up, May 3rd, and I am looking at the Cowon J3 and the Cowon S9.

From what I can tell is the J3 is probably just the S9 but cleaned up a little and has a Micro SD card slot (I really like this). But I am also guessing that after the J3 is released the S9 will receive one last firmware update and vanish (Understandable). I guess my real question would be would be is it worth the wait and will it be an excessive wait.

best thing to do would be to wait for the j3 and buy an s9... That way the s9 would be cheaper. If you want something now just get the j3 you can't go wrong.

Wow thats old, yeah I'm gonna definitely wait. So far I'm really impressed with Cowon SQ reviews, seeing as I have a NSO audition in August, I think I'll wait. Now to find head phones in the $100 range that will compliment the J3 well.

Wow, are you wrong. The thing is like a year old, maybe a few months more(by your info the S9 came out in 2006, so it's older than the iPod touch then?!?!?!). Rule of this site: Get the info you post correct, especially when it's on a subject we all know so well - Cowon.

Did some research, the S9 was released Dec. 19 2008, so 17 months tomorrow. Anybody have suggestions on headphones?

lol sorry i meant 2 year old ( 24 months not 48)-which is still wrong- cuz i know it went out in 2008 and now it is 2010 so you do the math
anyways sorry for miscalculations
and finally its 17 months old !
and i think ipod touch get regular hardware updates but nobody talked about the same for cowons so i assumed that all cowons are exactly the same inside but i dunno for sure and would be happy if some1 set it straight

The S9 gets quite frequent firmware updates (more frequent and FREE BTW), and even has gapless on it too boot. Theta, please check out the facts BEFORE posting false information. Read up on the S9 in it's prospective forum, you'll glean quite a bit of stuffage,.............

British-If you are looking for over the ear/regular headphones, Sennheiser HD280 Pro is great and very reasonable. I think its on sale right now for $70 on bensbargains.net. I have a pair of JBL 610 Bluetooth headphones that I got for Christmas that are really nice too. They sound almost as good as my HD280's. At X-mas time they were around 150-160. Now the price has gone up to over 200. Geez.

For earbuds, I liked my Ultimate Ear super.fi 3's. At least until they got a short in them.
