Default Unresponsive Screen... Again.

A few months ago, I posted about my problems with the HD's unresponsive screen, a problem that started after update 4.3 for me. After a while, the screen began to work perfectly again. Well, a few days ago, I updated to 4.5. And the dreaded unresponsive screen has returned. Does anyone have any guesses about the causes of this? And any solutions? (I've already tried doing a regular restart, don't feel like doing a clean install)

Yeah, you're going to have to provide more info on this . . . not listing any examples just makes you look like a troll.

I haven't noticed this problem since I upgraded to 4.5.

@lip - I had considered sending mine in before the 4.5 update but wasn't sure if I would get a new Zune. Did they send you a brand new one, no questions asked? In other words, was it a painless process to accomplish it? If so I may go ahead and try it anyway

I think they must have changed something in the wake up in 4.5 because it is very quick now for me. The only unresponsiveness I ever had was that I could not swipe the lock screen up for 3-5 seconds after pressing the on/off button to wake it up. Now, after 4.5, it can be swiped instantaneously.

Yeah I got a brand new one and it was a painless process (and I'm in Canada!)...however note that I have a zune originals...

I was thinking the same as you but it was getting worse and worse for me...I kept thinking it must have been the firmware but after talking with people here and MS it was obvious that it was not normal...your problem might be different but if you have to reboot a lot because of it I'm sure it's the same...

I have had a lot of responsiveness issues since 4.3 came out, but all of that was fixed with 4.5. Weird.

Gah, typed without thinking, my bad.
As for responsiveness, the only times I've experienced unresponsiveness are when the device first starts up and a couple of weird moments when the touch screen wigged out in the browser.

Yeah I probably should have given more details. Anyways, the touchscreen itself totally unresponsive. The actual screen, buttons, and (I think) accelerameter all work fine, except there's not much you can do with only those. Every once in a while, it will be perfectly normal for a few minutes and then it's back to unresponsiveness again.

That really does sound like warranty repair time.

I have noticed that the device will wake up on the first press, but after swiping up the lock screen, buttons/touchscreen won't respond for a second or so. Anyone else?

EDIT: Had the wake up problems pre-4.5. Was "solved" after 4.5.

I have heard that some of the early orders did have some problems and most of the later ones seem to be fine. Also, supposedly one of the factories used child labor, maybe a connection? Anyways, I'll probably send it in if the problem keeps up for a few more days.

If that's true I feel ripped off and entitled to a model that was manufactured properly. If I ever run across this problem again I'm definitely gonna try to get a new one

Here, though it seems to be mostly mice and keyboards, not zunes.

It isn't an issue exclusive to Microsoft, so I don't think there is a correlation.
However, there have been times where the touch screen wouldn't even work for me. It occurred a couple of times in 4.1, none in 4.3, and recently, once in 4.5. No biggie though, a hard reset fixes it.
