not very easy at all. Its made of like gorilla glass which makes it like hella strong. I've dropped mine like 30 times and it still looks brand new. Best screen on an media player I've ever had.

x2. I was at the bus station the other day and I pulled out my Zune HD to check the time, and I drop it, and smashes hard as hell on the concrete. Sounded like a crack. Nothing broke.. I was shocked O.O Just a microscopic chip on the top left of the player.

IDK about cracking, I've only dropped it a few times... But about a week after I bought my Zune, despite being very careful with it, it got a nice little scratch right in the middle of screen (presumably from the inside of my empty pocket). Everyone else who's saying that they don't use any screen protector or a case and don't have any scratches is lucky. I put a screen protector on it to stop any further scratching but the protector makes the scratch even more noticeable.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about cracking the glass, if you do something that would break the screen it'd probably be enough to do some serious damage to the player itself as well. But because of my personal experience, I would recommend a protector for scratches.

Actually, that's where you're wrong;
iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch screens all have glass screens of ridiculous thickness (easily more than 1mm).
The Zune HD's screen is quite a bit thinner, from what I've seen/read.

All glass is vulnerable to blunt force, by the way. Just be careful.

Yeah you must be careful and use a protector. Although it doesn't crack easily it is wise to be cautious.

Screen protectors won't stop the glass from cracking.

Well, it might help.

IMHO I think screen protectors are a great investment. I have on on my HD, and I can't really see the difference.
