Hi all,
I would love to install rockbox on my latest addition to my collection sansa players: a C250v2 According to the overview on the rockbox site it is already a pretty decent port. If someone (preferably one of the devs) already has a rockbox bootloader build to share then please post it here. I don't have a dev environment installed for the OS I use (Puppy Linux ) right now. So I would really appreciate it The rockbox files are available from here: http://build.rockbox.org/data/rockbox-sansac200v2.zip so that should be no problem. If needed I might be able to help testing (as long as there is no dev knowledge involved) Thanks! |

The instructions on the rockbox wiki link to the official rockbox bootloader for the c200v2. Just use that one.

Thanks saratoga! I have downloaded the bootloader I found here : http://download.rockbox.org/bootload...-sansa/c200v2/ renamed to c200pa.bin and copied the .rockbox directory to the root of the c200.
Then disconnected usb and firmware was busy flashing. The firmware upgrade message didn't disappear so I removed the battery and started the player again. Player still started in the OF and the c200pa.bin file is gone... Retried it (downloaded the files again), the same result. I have a refurbished C250. Last edited by TedB; 11-23-2009 at 03:56 PM. You have tp patch C200PA.bin and copy that to util partition (MSC) along with .rockbox.
My c250v2 is rocking now. |

I downloaded the bits; the Sansa Firmware, the current bootloader, MkAMSsBoot, all that.
And I ran the exe, with this result: Quote:
When I turn it on, though, I just see the SanDisk boot and boot to the original firmware. I have tried many times, deleting the old patched, all that, still no joy. Any hints as to what I am doing wrong here? |

According to this post
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?...9034#msg159034 as of 5 December 2009, it is known that the SansaC200V2 boot loader does NOT work on all Sansa C200 V2. Since the current posted bootloader is from 21 November 2009, there is no change; the current posted bootloader process does NOT work on all Sansa C200 V2, only on some of them. So I seem to have hit a known problem, and can only wait for a new and improved bootloader and/or boot insertion tool to be issued. Last edited by choke; 12-19-2009 at 01:07 PM. |

It should be fixed in mkamsboot 1.2 , though the backlight will not work on some c200v2s (fix in progress)

I downloaded it, thanks.
And yes, the C200V2 that I have is one of the ones with the backlight problem. Back to the original firmware, and I shall wait. |

If you can build from source and apply patches, read http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?...4038#msg164038
If you go this way, there should be no need to patch the bootloader, only the build installed in the .rockbox folder (the backlight will not work in the bootloader obviously). |

Build 25508 and the MkAMSboot here has made my C200v2 work.
Thanks to all for all your work. |
