bluetooth control via flash app

Hi folks,

since I'm new to flash and the cowon s9 I was wondering whether it is possible to create a flash application that sends serial commands via bluetooth.
What I had in mind was to use the s9 as some kind of universal remote control, paired with an arduino board (arduino.cc) to do stuff...

The s9 isn't capable of doing anything beyond audio with bluetooth at this point. Sorry, but I don't think you could do that.

However, I think one could write a flash app to manage BT phones and turn it on/off.

Hmm darn would've been too good...

But still it should be possible to pair the s9 with any random device right?
Maybe it is possible to transmit very short bleeps at any duration and make the arduino read and interpret them :-D kind of very long shot..

well, you could try, but I think that would be difficult to program at the arduino side.

and rather complicated... stopping the music, connecting BT... etc. etc.

Last chance would be if the player has any output capabilitys via its 20-pin connector, I cant find aything about this on the net though.

Maybe it is possible to send one byte or the other via the usb pins or so?

I'm sure you could do it with custom firmware, or if it had line out you could have it play a sound. But not with flash.

Concerning the firmware, I think I will leave that to the rockbox team (or anyone feeling called upon).

As for my remote-controlled arduino, maybe when my mobile breaks I look for one with bluetooth.

No problem. You could use 2 arduinos, one with a bt receiver, and another with a transmitter and buttons. just an idea

Too expensive...

An arduino + BT adapter would cost about 75€ I will just wait for the next handheld BT device to come around. Then I can have a decent graphical UI along with it.
