And you thought all we were getting for this upcoming update was Xvid and SmartDJ.
In a totally unexpected turn of events it seems Microsoft is getting ready to release a Flash Lite app in the impending Spring Update. This app allows for one to play Flash objects, (be it Youtube videos or Asteroids).
Microsoft has uploaded the app to their servers ahead of the upcoming update and we here at ZuneBoards have managed to find it. There’s no telling when they’ll figure out that it’s been discovered and pull it down so go download it (link below) while it lasts!
With the recently announced 64GB Zune HD it seems the Zune team is trying to drive three stakes into the vampire that is Apple’s grip on the MP3 player market. The first stake is the price of the 64GB Zune HD which is $50 cheaper than when the 64GB iTouch was announced and about matches current prices for 64GB iTouches. The second stake is the addition of "streaming access" to music through SmartDJ (with this upcoming update), something that the iTouch lacks. The third and probably the most harmful stake would be this app. Flash support is a commonly asked for feature on MP3s and the addition of support is bound to drive up sales of the Zune HD. While the iPhone does support Youtube with an app, it does not support any other flash objects, those of which have proliferated rapidly across the Internet in recent years.

(To place this on your Zune, save the file to C:\Users\*User*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Zune\Appli cations in Windows 7 or Vista and C:\Documents and Settings\*User*\Application Data\Local\Microsoft\Zune\Applications in Windows XP, then open the software go to "Collection"->"apps" right click the app and select "Sync with *player name*")
