Does anyone else feel headphone buying can become an addiction?

I think I'm getting to that point, have been trying to stop myself buying the Sennheiser IE8 and I just don't think I can... get paid next Thursday and have a feeling I'm going to give in again and treat myself.

Mind you, it's a worthy addiction. Every set I have essentially gives me a whole new music collection, as the experience of listening is so different with each. There are worse things to be wasting your money on.

My girlfriend was getting on my case about how much I spend on headphones and my response was for her to find me a girl that doesn't spend more a year on shoes and accessories than I do on headphones and I'll admit I spend too much.

Me. I only have two pairs of shoes and I don't buy "accessories" or whatever other junk that your average male idiot assumes all girls are into. Small monthly bills FTW.

As for the headphones, besides the Atrios and the JVC's in my sig, I have the AKG K240 that I initially bought for music but later found them to be better suited for gaming.

H+D I work in an office that is 90% female at least, probably more likely 95%, of course there are exceptions to the rule, but I'm standing by my statement based on experience.

The video game playing, audio equipment loving female demographic you belong to is a small one. Which is a great shame

I have: (in order of use)

Sennheiser PX100- my most used.....comfy as hell, easily powered, need only a little EQ-ing. Used around the house, and pretty much anywhere I go.

JVC Flats- They sound very much like the PX100's,even being closed....actually need even less EQ than the PX100's do. Only used around the house, because of the isolation. Easily powered by any player.

Grado SR60i- for pure sonic bliss when I'm chillin', either lying in bed or sitting at the computer. No EQ required, except occasionally a little of Sony's "Clear Bass" if I am listening at low levels. Sound good out of all my players, but seem to scale up well with added power.....my Sony players and computer get more out of them than my Clip+ does.

Koss KSC75- least used. They do sound good out of my Sony players, with no EQ, but they require more power for equivalent volumes than my Senns or JVC's do. Can be shrill at higher volumes with certain music, particularly with Sansa players. Not very comfortable, goofy looking, plus they have that big lump of an inline volume control that flops around. Still, for $5.74 apiece, for the 2 pair I have, I can't complain.

At this point, I have no other headphones in mind for purchase.....pretty satisfied with what I have.

Agreed!! I have 14 DAP's, and almost as many HP's. I don't spend much on the girly-girl stuff at all like hair products, make-up, shoes, perfume.....etc. Now electronics....that's another story!

No, I don't use headphones with my primary system. I have a Meitner Pa6i plus preamp and a Luxman P200 headphone amp with my computer as the source for Headphones. and those are usually used with the MDR F1 headphones, which sell on Audiocubes2 for 300$ so I wouldn't call them "mediocre"
