Cowon are made pretty well, but I don't like a few things: their poor less than 80Ω earphone performance and their former 'audiophile' marketing. I've had two Cowons and been pretty perturbed at their performance considering the marketing push.

I still won't buy Korean. I might if Korean companies started to respect their home market and use realistic parts in their products which put safety and performance first while marketing both those portions, but I simply don't trust things which are designed here anymore; everything I see is sub-standard.

Yep, Samsung are the largest company in the world for many reasons: in Korea, everything including buildings and fruit are sold by Samsung. In fact, go to certain supermarkets and you will find that the largest company in the world turn a blind eye to illegal DVD/CD sales in supermarkets they own.

They pretend like the invasion of foreign electronics into Korea (the first foreign phone, for instance was last April, the first ever) is a big take over, but Korean 'electronics' companies such as LG and Samsung are many times larger than any other electronics corp in the world precisely because they do everything and will have it no other way.

The current president of Korea is ex-Hyundai. Corporations run Korea and that is why I cannot stand what happens to citizens here. Buildings fall down because there is very little government control, fire burps from big wells in my apartment and cars break down because Korean companies sell cheap to the Koreans.

As knowing Samsung very well although I don't live in South Korea, I can tell you YOU (national market) are very priviledged. Samsung are making DAP for Korea, not for the rest of the world. They absolutely do not care on their subsidiaries, it's a shame.
And Samsung DAPs you can buy in Korea are not "sub-standard" products. They are the same than in the other countries with your own national priviledges (DMB and other special models, UCIs to download, etc)

But I agree the Korean government is a shame. It's only "big brother": on almost every website you are obliged to sign up with a Korean "social welfare" number. No freedom.

Yepp indeed, they pay people to watch guys like me on blogs and forums
Rather call them "Community managers" than "Gestapo" otherwise they could feel offended lol

Yepp, Samsung France is the most priviledged subsidiary regarding mp3 players Not like Samsung USA who got products 6 months after their release

Hmmm excuse me for the off-topic.

OK, kind of a stupid entry, but I just devised a new headphone stand for my messy work desk. The Can Bear, seen here modeling the ATH-M50 and Clip with S9 accessory. Must-haves this season for the discerning bear about town.

Yep just go here download the firmware and dfkt's file, copy the bin file to the player's root and the .rockbox folder, i also installed dfkt's theme because i've liked it ever since i saw it months ago hehe.

Only problem so far is that you get a 12776 error because right now rb can not write to the player, but it still works like a charm.

Whoa, I never thought somebody could own that much music. But I understand that there are these must haves.

OT: abi forums keeps throwing me out every other second. It's quite annoying.
